The film Porte Interdite | Motivation ouverte is the result of a year-long discussion and meeting between an Access 2 class from the DIP of Geneva, the Education department of the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève and the HEAD- Geneva.
The genesis of this project is rooted in the visit of class 308 to the Centre to experience the Biennale de l’Image en Mouvement (BIM’21). After viewing the artists’ films, the proposal emerged to think about and make a film collectively, going through all the stages of its production.
At the beginning, a single question was asked: “Where do we find the strength and motivation?” Since September 2021, regular work sessions have allowed a common questioning to emerge around the notion of motivation and the figures that could, for each student, serve as a driving force in daily life. Thus, the film, using the technique of incrustation, stages fictional dialogues in which these different figures provide the keys to finding reasons to move forward. The students wrote, acted, and directed the film, with the support of an interdisciplinary team, which will result in the creation of a film that premiered at the Cinema Dynamo.
