Interview with collective FAAB G on their exhibition Ce qui dérive résiste encore, presented at L’Arcade from July 8 to September 6, 2026.
In response to the continued marginalization of Asian diasporic experiences within decolonial discourses, the collective FAAB G centers its practice around FLINTA* (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, Agender) figures of resistance connected to the Asian continent. The project questions dominant narratives that have contributed to simplifying, rendering invisible, and erasing certain histories, identities, and memories while seeking to restore presences long excluded from official representations.
The exhibition Ce qui dérive résiste encore at the Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève brings together works by Jeanne Tara, Juli Sando, Sayaka Mizuno, Camille Farrah Buhler, Anaïs Nariman Aïk, Fhunyue Gao, and Li Chaolin. Selected by the Centre as part of its annual open call to artists active in Geneva, the exhibition presents a range of multidisciplinary practices exploring different forms of resistance—political, historical, and intimate.
Through personal narratives, archives, gestures of transmission, and acts of memorial reappropriation, the works create a space for reflecting on alternative ways of narrating diasporic and marginalized histories. Informed by anticolonial and transfeminist perspectives, the exhibition approaches resistance both as a collective practice and as a lived, sensitive experience tied to memory, identity, and belonging.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of events and public programs intended to extend the collective reflection on voices, forms of inheritance, and modes of resistance that continue to circulate, drift, and endure.
