14 avenue de Rosemont, Geneva. Founded in 2020
Founded in 2020, Limbo is one of Geneva’s young offspaces. Instead of a crowded opening, followed by a deserted space, Limbo prefers to organize events to a different temporality. Exhibitions, but also radios in cars, readings, an event of performative painting, meals… situations through which exchanges and meetings are thought of outside a logic of representation and networking. Between trust contract, DIY and free pricing, Limbo functions through a series of tools and strategies that are mostly developed in parallel to the financial economy. Their revendications are as strict as their engagement is full, their program is, however, not restricted to what can be called “engaged” art, to a sort of artivism that has been seen a lot in Geneva. Limbo represents the local and young contemporary art scene, without activist restrictions, and seeks to cross the boundaries between audiences, scenes, and social circles.
