The Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève presents Promenades, a podcast series by Francesco Fusaro, exploring the complex interplay between music, history, and culture. Originally published by Italian online magazine Music Paper, each episode of this newly revised English edition of Promenades is a distinctive psychogeographic journey, employing the Situationists’ approach.
The series melds classical and contemporary compositions with a diverse array of texts from thinkers like Adam Harper, Federico Campagna, Stefano Mancuso, Florence Williams, Eugene Thacker, Raymond Murray Schafer and Tim Rutherford-Johnson. Promenades serves as a thought-provoking moodboard, challenging listeners to rethink the role of music in our algorithmically-driven world.
Francesco Fusaro is an NTS Radio resident DJ, independent music producer, and musicologist based in the outskirts of Milan, Italy. He has contributed articles to Italian and international media outlets and released music under his real name and various monikers on several independent labels.
His live performances have included collaborations with artists such as DJ Balli, Bienoise, Enrico Gabrielli, and Sebastiano De Gennaro. As a member of the contemporary music ensemble Esecutori di Metallo su Carta, Fusaro explores diverse musical terrains, blending traditional and innovative approaches.
He also co-curates the «anti-classical» recording series 19’40” and the no-genre netlabel MFZ Records. His recent work includes a contribution to the Centre d’Art Contemporain exhibition “Chrysalis: The Butterfly Dream”, featuring both an essay and a dedicated playlist.
