Tabarak Allah Abbas (b.1998, Valais) is a filmmaker of Iraqi origin based in Geneva. Initially trained as a painter, she discovered in cinema her primary medium of expression. A 2023 graduate of HEAD – Genève, her work explores belonging, exile, and the fragile intersections between memory and imagination. Her short film Un Papillon (2021) premiered in the Schools Competition at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur, followed by Les Fantômes du Paradis (2021) at the Geneva International Film Festival. Her graduation film My Homeland (2023) received multiple international awards and was part of the shortlisted films for the 2026 Academy Awards. She is currently developing her first feature, KIOSK, with AKKA Films.
