“When I was a kid, maybe 9 or 10 years old, in the late 1980s or early 1990s, I saw a TV show about a woman who would bring men home in order to feed them to her bed. I remember it having a feminist undertone and was, as I recall, an episode of The Twilight Zone or The Outer Limits or Tales from the Crypt or something like that, but I’ve never managed to find it online, so it remains just a vague but powerful memory to me.

In 2015 I was searching for this episode of television in the hopes of remaking it into a music video. While there was no sign of it anywhere I came across a movie from 1977 called Death Bed: The Bed that Eats directed by George Berry. When asked about the film, the director claims to have no memory of making it. Now this story is going to begin to seem like an exaggeration but I assure you it’s not. And so while continuing to search for the original TV episode I came across a song called Bed that Eats by a band called Stare Case. And I thought to myself well that’s really a great name for a band. Upon further research I discovered that Stare Case is the experimental noise musicians Wolf Eyes who had just contributed the soundtrack to my last video, 2014’s Toilets not Temples. Now what are the chances of that? I’m not sure. But I find that things often unfold this way, like food sliding out of a sandwich into my lap for later, my own disorganization provides.” –Will Benedict
